Flint-area master gardener finds three brown recluse spiders in Genesee County home

GENESEE COUNTY, Michigan — A Flint-area master gardener captured three brown recluse spiders in her Genesee County home and now state officials are wondering if the notorious spider generally found in other states is migrating to Michigan, according to this Detroit Free Press article.
"It's the first time I've seen live ones," gardener Ruth Simon told The Free Press after taking the spiders to the Michigan State University Extension Office in Genesee County. "It's exciting to get something like this in.... It's not a common occurrence."
